Requirement Engine

Requirements engineering across industries

Requirement Engine

Turn the documents you already produce into review-ready requirements, acceptance criteria and manual tests — grounded in your standards, traceable end to end, and connected to Jira and ACCELQ. Set industry-specific compliance coverage for each workspace, or keep it general with SDLC and STLC quality practices.

Module 01 · Intake

Read the material you already have

Project charters, solution architecture, design documents, vendor packs, data flows and glossaries. Summarized and indexed source material grounds your requirements, while project Activity records uploads, generation prompts and results.

Module 02 · Requirements

Write requirements that survive review

Business, functional, non-functional and technical layers with the eight-element anatomy, INVEST stories and Given/When/Then acceptance criteria — each one scored against your QA requirements review checklist before anyone opens a meeting.

Module 03 · Test design

Turn approved requirements into test coverage

Manual test scenarios, step-by-step cases with preconditions and test data, negative paths, regression library candidates and STLC-aligned suites. Download the generated test approach as a Word document using the built-in layout or your organization’s template.

Module 04 · Delivery

Push it where the work happens

Live Jira sync: requirements become epics, stories become stories with their acceptance criteria, and test cases land as linked tasks. Re-sync updates instead of duplicating.

Beyond the first draft

From source material to reviewed, connected delivery

Document processing, requirement generation, test generation and guided remediation show background progress and completion notifications. Project Activity keeps the source material, prompts and outcomes together.

An assistant for each requirement

Generate plain-language acceptance criteria and test scenarios as editable drafts. Use your organization’s own business, functional, non-functional and test templates.

Review with the right people

Collect stakeholder comments and decisions on the review board, manage change requests and retain an audit trail of what changed and why.

See the full chain

Follow documents through requirements, stories, criteria and tests in a visual project map. The traceability matrix highlights coverage gaps, review comments and requirement risk.

Work with regulated controls

Choose an industry per workspace and track framework evidence, findings, change requests and requirement risk. Coverage reflects the controls applied by your organization; it does not imply certification or a legal compliance determination.

Connect Jira and ACCELQ

Sync stories and test work with Jira. Link each project to an approved ACCELQ project to push manual scenarios and steps, start jobs and pull results back. Keep manual sync available alongside scheduled sync.

Keep teams and usage in bounds

Separate projects and members across workspaces, manage roles and invitation permissions, and consolidate integrations in Organization Settings. Give external business guests time-limited project access, with inactivity suspension and audited renewal controls.

Start with a guided setup

An optional setup wizard collects your project context, documents and generation choices. Save a setup to resume later, or use the individual project tools. Searchable Help articles and contextual hints stay close to the work.

Organize growing backlogs

Collapsible, pinnable folders organize requirements, stories, test scenarios and cases. Search by keyword or tag, drag items into folders, and move or tag selections in bulk. Archive unused work and restore it when needed; audit records remain retained.

Address gaps without bypassing review

Select risk findings for guided background remediation. Missing criteria or tests become editable drafts; findings that need human decisions become accountable actions. A read-only Auditor view brings together project evidence, traceability and audit history.

Review regulatory changes

Scheduled checks look for framework updates, with last-check dates and a manual check option. Platform admins verify proposed changes before organizations review and apply them. Coverage is recalculated against the applied controls, not unapproved proposals.

Industry-specific coverage

One organization. Different industries. Shared quality standards.

Organization admins choose an industry for each workspace. The catalog covers 21 industry profiles, plus General, with framework-aligned evidence checks and AI guidance. These are coverage and readiness checks, not exhaustive legal assessments or certification.

General — SDLC / STLC best practices

Framework update checks are scheduled every 30 days. Last-check dates and reviewed proposals make changes visible; organization admins decide when to apply verified updates. A scheduled check does not guarantee that every regulatory change is discovered or that a workspace is on the latest version.

Built on your standards, not ours

Every rule the AI follows is a rule you can edit

Requirement types, the anatomy checklist, banned ambiguous wording, non-functional thresholds, naming conventions, RACI and the STLC phase map all live in a ruleset your organization controls. Change the ruleset and the generated output, the quality score and the review gate all change with it. Use the visual editor or upload and edit Markdown. Draft a ruleset from guidance documents, retain version history, and let organization admins choose whether workspace members can edit standards or only view them.

  • One requirement per item

Never combine two behaviors with 'and' or 'also'. Multiple requirements in one item convolute review and wreck test estimation.

  • Name the actor

Replace 'the solution' or 'the appropriate subsystem' with the named accountable system, service or role.

  • Quantify every quality claim

'Fast enough', 'highly available' and 'user friendly' are not requirements. State the number, the unit and the condition.

  • Write so it can be proven

A reader must be able to say what evidence would demonstrate the requirement is met. Business requirements are the only type exempt.

  • Specify what happens when things go wrong

Every functional requirement needs its failure, rejection, timeout and reporting behavior stated or explicitly deferred.

  • Trace up and down

Each functional, non-functional and technical requirement traces to a business requirement; each is verified by at least one test scenario.

  • Flag conversion items

Data conversion and migration requirements carry the conversion prefix so audit can isolate conversion defects.
